Happy Earth Day!
We interrupt today's regular scheduled programming [Fabulous Friday Favorites] to wish y'all a very happy Earth Day! How will you make a difference today? Check out these ideas for ways you can make every day Earth Day:
Replace your next burned-out light bulb with a compact fluorescent one. It would save 660lbs of CO2 emissions, per year. Fluorescent bulbs also last six times longer than standard incandescent ones and use 75% less energy because they use less heat.
Use reusable bags! They are a better option and high-quality reusable shopping bags or totes are produced from materials that don't harm the environment and don't need to be discarded after each use.
Consider purchasing clothing made from organic materials. If you purchase one pair of jeans and a t-shirt made from 100% organic material, it would mean eliminating 150 grams of fertilizers and pesticides from the environment.
Try installing water filters on your faucets to ensure that your tap water is 100% clean! Also use a reusable water bottle. You'll also save money and the planet by not polluting it with more plastic bottles.
Purchase your produce from local farm markets. Not only will the fruits and veggies be fresher, but you'll cut down on vehicle emissions by staying close to home.
